14th Annual Southeast Wilderness Medicine Conference
The Southeast Wilderness Medicine Conference is an annual event sponsored by Edward Via College of Osteopathetic Medicine & West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. See below for more information:
The dates for this year's event are March 19-21. Due to covid, the conference will be held virtually, but that does not mean it will be uneventful or unexciting. Some of the highlights for this year's conference include a virtual interactive welcome night on Friday evening, the medical director of Grand Tetons National Park as a keynote speaker, a “Chopped”-style medical skills competition, a chance to win new outdoor gear items in a raffle, engaging lectures from highly renowned leaders in wilderness medicine, and a student presentation competition.
It is open to anyone with an interest in wilderness medicine, the field of medicine, or spending time outdoors (not just medical students!) It is a great way to learn new skills, make new connections, and have fun while challenging yourself to grow in your medical knowledge. Registration is open and can be found at (https://www.blueridgeadventuremed.com/2021-student-conference.html). The cost to attend is $14. Participants are also able to purchase conference gear through the website as well.
