Trail Signage Team
Throughout the Spring semester we'll be making AT trail signs and installing them through our section of the trail. Partnering with the VT Prototyping Lab and having them generate the signs we layout with the CNC machine. No experience needed.
Join the Outdoor Club at Virginia Tech's Appalachian Trail (A.T.) volunteers and help create updated signs for our designated section of the Trail. Volunteers will be teaming up with Virginia Tech's Prototyping Studio to create these updated signs. Anyone is welcome to join this project, no previous experience is necessary.
This project of updating the signs is expected to span across the colleges spring 2023 semester, with a completion date of May 13. Work will include:
- a needs assessment
- layout of signs using software
- using CNC machine to make wooden signs
- on-trail work trips to install signs
