Description
We will start at the McAfee parking lot and see both McAfee’s Knob and Tinker Cliffs on Friday, completing ~10 miles and camping at Lambert’s Meadow shelter. Saturday will be about 18 miles along the North Mountain ridge trail towards Dragon’s Tooth and camping at the Boy Scout trail campsites. Sunday, we will side hike to Dragon’s Tooth, then pick our gear up and finish back at the McAfee’s parking lot for about 9 miles on Sunday. This trek has limited water resources so carrying at least 4 liters of water capacity is recommended. 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners, and snacks will be needed for the trip. Pack all the necessary gear you will need for hiking in the Virginia Fall. Water filtration will be important also.
Location
We will meet on-campus first to organize and work out carpooling so we leave minimal cars at the McAfee lot. We will then leave for the McAfee’s Knob trailhead parking lot on VA-311.
What You Should Bring
At least 4 liters of water capacity, clothes for Virginia Fall weather, tent/hammock, cooking material, food
