Description
We'll embark on a journey to McAfee Knob, renowned as one of the Appalachian Trail's most iconic and photogenic spots. To make the most of this experience, we will start our hike when it is still dark out, aiming to reach the summit just in time for a breathtaking sunrise. The trail covers approximately 8 miles round trip and is rated as having a 'moderate' difficulty level on AllTrails (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/mcafee-knob-appalachian-trail). What to bring: - At least 2 liters of water - Snacks to refuel along the way - Hiking shoes - Layers of clothing (especially considering the cooler temperatures in the early morning) - A jacket - A headlamp or flashlight
