Description
This is an ~20 mile loop around 2 hours away from campus. We will begin early on Saturday and end whenever we get back on Sunday, I'm hoping it will be early evening. We will be starting at the parking lot off of 603 and camping overnight at the Wise shelter 12.3 miles in (if it is empty and we get there in time). This is NOT a trip for beginner backpackers, you must be able to keep up with the pace and handle the cold nighttime temperatures. If you want to go and have experience but don't have backpacking gear, please reach out to me and we can try to work something out. There are a ton of overlooks and views along the trail, wild ponies in the area, and it should be great timing for fall colors.
Location
We will be meeting on campus before we leave and carpooling so we only have to take 2 cars.

What You Should Bring
Necessities are a backpack, tent, sleeping bag, pad, warm layers, food, and water (may need to filter water). If you are experienced enough to do this trip, you should know what to pack for a November overnight backpacking trip. Make sure you are ready for temperature drops at night. If you are missing some gear, Venture Out rents for really cheap and the club has access to some gear.
Pet Instructions/Info
Must be prepared for a fast-paced backpacking trip. I would only allow dogs if you have backpacked with your dog before.
