Description
We will use hand tools to clear blowdowns and repair treadway damage in a designated wilderness section of the AT. No trail maintenance experience is necessary. We will carpool from Blacksburg. Additional volunteer work days will be added as progress conditions warrant.
Location
25 miles west of Blacksburg on the border between Virginia and West Virginia. The Peter's Mountain Wilderness ridge line is the most western portion of the AT.
What You Should Bring
Wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt and sturdy work boots. Please bring sturdy work gloves if you have them. Hard hat, eye protection and tools are provided. Consider changing weather conditions. Bring lunch and 2 litters of water.
