Description
A large bubble of thru hikers is passing through our area as they walk the ~2,200 miles from Georgia to Maine. We will travel on restricted Forest Service roads to access the VA/WVA border on the ridge line of Peter's Mountain. We will then hike 1 mile to begin clearing encroaching vegetation with motorized brush cutters, handsaws and loppers. No experience is necessary as training, PPE and tools are provided. A carpool location will be decided after registrations are completed.
What You Should Bring
Wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt and sturdy footwear. Bring sunscreen and bug spray if you prefer. Prepare for possible cooler mountain temperatures. Bring safety glasses if you have any, your favorite work gloves, lunch, and two liters of water.
