Description
Meet at Squires lot at 4 pm and then get to Apple Orchard Trailhead by 5.5 pm. I will give an overview in the parking lot before we start. We will hike 2.6 miles total and it should take us (at most) 2 hrs. This hike is pretty moderate and somewhat steep at times. Definitely harder than Cascades but easier than Dragon's Tooth or McAfee.
Location
Apple Orchard Falls is on the west side of Apple Orchard Mountain along the Blue Ridge Parkway and just outside Bedford, VA. Blue Rdg Pkwy, Buchanan, VA 24066
Driving Directions
The parking lot for Apple Orchard Trailhead can easily be found in map apps and is 1 hr 20 mins from Blacksburg.
What You Should Bring
Wear closed-toed sneakers that you feel comfortable walking in. Bring enough water (no more than 1L). I highly recommend trekking poles since they make walking easier. Please NO JEANS, NO OPEN TOED SHOES, NO SPEAKERS.
